Blogmas Day 12!
Morning beauties! Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, and I'm a little upset about this list. I love award season, but I am slightly disappointed about some of the snubs this year. Check out the nominees, and some massive complaining below!
Really no surprise here! These were obviously the best films this year... Though, Rush was a bit of surprise. My bet is on 12 Years a Slave for cleaning up the award circuit.
Hold on one minute! Excuse me Hollywood Foreign Press, but you have forgotten someone very important on this list! His name is Benedict Cumberbatch; I'm sure you missed it because it is a hard one to spell. But really! All jokes aside, where is Cumberbatch's name?! His performance in The Fifth Estate was absolutely flawless! How could he not even get a nomination? I feel Benedict got snubbed because the film wasn't that great... But, still his performance as Assange was, to me, the best performance of the year. I am literally heart broken! And, what with the SAG nominations out yesterday, it's looking bleak for Benedict this season. NO!
But besides the worst snub in the history of snubs, Chiwetel Ejiofor is a definite much deserved nomination; my vote is going for him. Both Chiwetel and Idris Elba are double nominees (rightfully, too).
Best Motion Picture-- Drama
12 Years a Slave
Captain Phillips
Gravity
Philomena
Rush

Now, this category is going to be a tight race! Lawrence, Nyong'o, and Roberts! All absolutely perfect women! As much as I love Jennifer, I think Lupita is going to take home the gold! Her performance in 12 Years a Slave was absolutely devastating. She definitely deserves every award this season! Plus, all these acting nominations for August: Osage County is making me super excited for the film!

Ooh, this is another tight group! I LOVE McQueen, but Cuaron did something absolutely amazing with Gravity! I would hope that McQueen would win with his fantastic, beautiful, artful directing, but I don't know... This one is going to be tough. Yet, I also love O. Russle! Ugh, this one is going to be hard to choose.

Regardless, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting the Golden Globes this year so it is sure to be a riot! Last years show as so funny I almost died! The award show airs on January 12th... But there's more! I am going to be live blogging the show! Yay! So we can sit here, and complain about how we don't get to see the Cumberbabe at all the whole night. It's going to be fun! Make sure to check back here on January 12th for some award show fun!
