Blogmas Day 24!
Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! Blogmas is almost over! Christmas Eve is always so exciting, especially as a kid! You are so anxious for Santa to come, you set out your cookies and milk, and go to sleep early so Santa won't miss you!
Here are some of the Christmas Eve traditions we have in our family, and some I always did as kid!
Family Dinner
Every Christmas Eve we have dinner with me, Mom, Dad, and Alison. It's a great time to spend time with family, and just enjoy each other's company.
Visiting with the Neighbors
For as long as I can remember, we have gone to our neighbors house on Christmas Eve. We exchange gifts, eat great food, and catch up with our neighbors. Christmas Eve is spent laughing with friends and family.
Going to Church
Our family goes to church every Christmas Eve. We can't forget the true meaning of Christmas.
Milk and Cookies for Santa; Carrots for the Reindeer
Like most families, we would put out milk and cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer when we were little. We have a special plate just for Santa's cookies! And every morning the cookies would be eaten, and the carrots gone. Bless mom and dad for going out and picking up all those carrots in the yard!
Letter to Santa
Every year when I was younger, I would write a letter to Santa Claus. I can't remember what I wrote about (probably Harry Potter), but I would leave it with his milk and cookies. And every Christmas morning there would a note back!
Midnight Sneak Peak
When I was little, I would always wake up in the middle of the night to see if Santa came. I would creep down the stairs, run to the Christmas tree, and seek out my presents. I try to guess what was underneath the wrapping. But I would never look! I didn't want Santa to come back and take my presents away because I was on the naughty list!
Those are just some of my Christmas Eve traditions! I hope you enjoy your holiday, and spend it gathered around people you love! Thanks so much for the amazing time during Blogmas! Enjoy the holidays! Happy Christmas!
