Hello Everyone!
Day 2 of singing in New York started just as you would imagine it... Impromptu singing in Rockefeller Center. We had the morning to explore the city, before our rehearsals for the concert. Since it was an absolutely beautiful day, I decided a nice trip to Central Park would make for a perfect morning!
I am going to go total nerd here, but I deliberately went to Central Park just so I could find the rock where the Doctor, Amy, and Rory sat during the beginning of Angels Take Manhattan. The views were absolutely stunning from the top of it!
Next, we went to Union Theological Seminary area in upper Manhattan to meet with our maestro for the Carnegie Hall concert, Grant Gershon. A world renowned conductor, Mr. Gershon was absolutely incredible to work with. He was so passionate about the score, and it really helped to bring the passion and enthusiasm out in us.
After our rehearsal with Gershon, we had a little picnic right outside Grant's tomb... Lovely, but odd, place to eat dinner.
Finally, we headed back downtown to Carnegie Hall! How exciting!
Our performance was absolutely flawless, and it was so exhilarating performing on an actual New York stage! I can't even tell you how long I have been dreaming of that! We had the marvelous opportunity to see other choirs from across the country, as well as professional opera singers perform. Overall, it was just an absolutely amazing experience that I will never forget.
