April Favorites

Posted on 08:59 by smith
Well, Hello There!

Can you believe April is already over? I feel like this month just flew past! A lot of great things have happened this month, and, not to mention, some fantastic television! Here are my top five favorite things from this month!

The Cambridge’s Royal Tour

The highlight of this month definitely had to be following the Cambridge’s tour of Australia and New Zealand. I am absolutely obsessed with the Royal Family, especially the younger generation. I mean, Prince William was my first crush! Anyway, I have an eternal love for the Cambridge family, and this tour definitely increased my love for them even more! Honestly, who didn’t fall in love with Prince George! He is just too adorable! This was the first Royal tour I have followed, so it was super exciting to see what new adventures William and Catherine (and maybe little George) had in store… And, of course, it was extra exciting waiting to see what Kate would wear!

Hannibal

I’m not going to lie, Hannibal is probably my favorite show on television right now! Each episode is even better than the last. You never know what you’re going to get when a new episode begins. I absolutely love the directing of this show, and Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are just incredible in their roles. But what has really impressed me during this new season is the writing. I love that the plot has been focusing more of the Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter character arc rather than the murders and crimes like season one. I would definitely recommend this new season of Hannibal... But not to those with weak stomachs.

Fargo

I have been TV bingeing this month; there are so many good shows on right now! Along with Hannibal, I have also been loving the show Fargo. I initially watched Fargo because Martin Freeman was in it, but I stayed for much more. Fargo delivers in all the aspects a show should: the directing is superb, the characters are captivating, and the plot leaves you wanting more. Although it’s based off of the iconic Coen brother’s film, this show is definitely its own entity. I can’t wait to see how the plot unfolds in the coming episodes.

Miranda Sings

Oh my god, guys! If you have not watched Miranda Sings on Youtube, than you are truly missing out! She is so incredibly funny! I kid you not, I spent a whole weekend watching all of her videos... I had watched her so much I literally could not stop talking like her! I assure you that your stomach will hurt from laughing so hard! The video posted above is one of my absolute favorites!

Sims Freeplay for iPhone

I am literally obsessed with this game! I cannot stop playing it! The Sims is just one those games that you binge play... You play for hours and days then you don't touch it for months. This app is about the only gaming app I have on my iPhone. This game is fun and completely addicting. I must admit, my Sim town is pretty awesome... And, of course, my Sim is married to Benedict Cumberbatch.

What have been your favorite things this month? Leave a comment below and let me know!

Fashion Review | The Cambridge's Australia and New Zealand Tour

Posted on 15:22 by smith
Hello Everyone!

Okay, so how much did we love (look at that, bold and italicized... I'm not messing around here!) the Cambridge family tour! I literally could not get enough of Prince George; he is just too adorable! William and Catherine have definitely stepped flawlessly into their royal roles, and they still appeared to be having a good time. I certainly had a great time following them... I mean, my Tumblr was taken over by this perfect family! But, of course, being a Duchess of Cambridge moment, we were bound to have amazing fashion moments! Here are my top ten favorite outfits from The Cambridge's Tour of Australia and New Zealand!

Coat: Catherine Walker

I love vintage fashion; the 50's and 60's are my favorite era of clothing. So, when I saw Catherine in this Jackie Kennedy inspired outfit, I lost it! She looks absolutely incredible in this jacket! I love the buttons, the hat, and the color! Absolutely ace, Kate!

...
And just a reminder that she walked down those air plane steps in heels, while holding a wiggling baby, without holding on to the rail. What a women!

Dress: Alexander McQueen

As much as I loved that striking Walker coat, I think this outfit  is quickly becoming my favorite look from the tour! The Duchess of Cambridge and Alexander McQueen are the absolute perfect combination! Kate looks stunning in this gorgeous pale pink dress, and her trusty L.K. Bennett heels match perfectly. Her accessorizing is on point, and her hair and makeup look flawless.

Dress: Jenny Packham

Kate never fails to look stunning in a Jenny Packham dress. This simple black dress is beautified with a gorgeous embroidered crystal fern on the shoulder. Plus, a little black dress is the perfect choice for a nighttime event. Kate looks sophisticated and mature in this lovely dress.

Dress: Emilia Wickstead

I am in love with this dress! And I love the fact that she has the same dress in pink! I love the pleats, I love the hat, and I love the Queen's pin! What I liked most about Kate's outfits during this tour was that there were a lot of "recycled" dresses. It's very practical of her to wear old dresses; it shows she's consumer minded and level headed.

Coat: Alexander McQueen

This tour provided a great opportunity for Catherine to prove herself. Not only has her fashion matured, but she was also absolutely wonderful in her royal duties during this tour. I love this structured Alexander McQueen coat. She looks regal and mature, while still looking fabulous! Catherine is going to make a great queen for William!

Dress: Roksanda Ilincic

You know what? I love it when William and Catherine match. It's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen! Both William and Kate look fantastic in these khaki colors; they even resemble Wills parent, Diana and Charles, when they were on tour. I really love the simplicity of this dress. The structure in at the neckline adds just the right amount of spice to a classic silhouette.

Dress: Custom made

Did you know, Kate actually helped to design this dress?! She really can do everything! I adore this broderie anglaise dress; it's very fitting for an Easter Sunday dress. I also really like this color. I wasn't too much a fan of the bright yellow dress, but I love this pale yellow much more. And can I just say, this trip to the zoo was my favorite! Little George was so adorable, and William looks super handsome in his checkered top.

Coat: Erdem

Although William might not like this coat, I love it! I love a good coat; I may have gone a bit coat crazy this winter. This color is beyond gorgeous, and the full length zipper is very modern. Plus, the tea dress she wore under this stunning coat is just as adorable. And can I just say, her hair looks so beautiful here; the color is just stunning!

Top: Me & Em
Jeans: J Brand
Jacket: Zara

You guys know what's coming.... My navy blue senses are tingling! Not only am I obsessed with navy blue, but add a striped tee and I will go crazy for your look! A natucal theme is very fitting for a day sail boat racing!  And, not to mention, this jacket is from Zara! I love Zara!

Jumper: Jonathan Saunders
Jeans: J Brand

I adore Kate's causal wear. She looks just as amazing in jeans and a top as she does in a designer gown. I love this cream sweater, the simple trainers, and jeans. She looks laid back and relaxed; she is in her element on the sports field! But really, who looks this beautiful playing sports!

And, of course, an honorable mention has to go to my favorite baby, Prince George! Doesn't he just look smashing in his little sail boat overalls and little peter pan collared shirt! Well, we all knew his mummy was going to dress him to a tee! I must admit, seeing little Prince George was definitely the highlight of this whole tour!

Beauty Review | Benefit's Pore-fessional Balm

Posted on 08:56 by smith
Aloha!

It's time for another beauty product review! This week I am reviewing Benefit's Pore-fessional balm primer. I will admit, I was super excited to try this product; I have heard nothing but good things about it. Unfortunately, my hopes were crushed to oblivion as I was very disappointed with the outcome.

To begin, I was a little weary of the texture of this primer. Because it's a balm, it has a thicker texture, yet it felt lightweight, which I liked. I liked the feel of the balm when I sampled it on my hand in Sephora, but not so much when it was smeared all over my face. This product is aimed at minimizing pores, but all I felt like it did was clog them. I only wore this primer for a few days, but it made me feel like a hot, oily, clogged mess! Moreover, it didn't even help to perfect my appearance. To me, it's a primers job to create a perfected canvas for the foundation. This primer just left me feeling and looking gross.
I would not recommend this product for anyone who has oily or combination skin; it will only cause more oil.

Watch: Fossil

But most importantly, this primer did not do what a primer is supposed to do: keep your makeup on! It was completely useless; I felt like my foundation was just melting off my face (and it's winter.... Imagine wearing this in the hot, sweaty summer!) Whenever I would get hot, this primer made my foundation bead up and fall out of place, which, as you can imagine, did not make me very happy. By 3 o'clock all of my foundation had moved and my makeup looked disheveled.

I was less than impressed with this product. For the price, I would have expected much better quality. Needless to say, I am not jumping on the Pore-fessional band wagon.

The Films that Changed Me

Posted on 10:56 by smith
Hey Guys!

So, yesterday I watched a Charlieissocoollike video where he talked about the films that changed him.... And I felt inspired! I, like Charlie, am a huge film nerd. I love films. Movies can be far more than just an hour and a half of entertainment, but they can become a gateway into a different world. What I love most about films is the impact they can have on your life.  There are have been a handful of movie that have changed the way I look at the world.

Boy A

So, a few years ago I went through this phrase where I was obsessed with Andrew Garfield (which I still am... One does not simply become unobsessed with Andrew Garfield...), and, like the true obsessive I am, I watched all the movies he was in. Boy A had quite a profound impact on me. I couldn't tell you what is was about this film that touched me so much, but it defiantly changed the way I thought about films. Boy A was the first time that I truly appreciated the impact a film can have. It was the first time I appreciated cinematography, and it showed me that there is more to the film making than an entertaining story.

Beginners

Beginners is the first movie that made me cry. That's right, it was the first time I thought, "Wow, I really do have emotions." Wonderful. But in all sincerity, this was the first film that I had ever connected to on an emotional level. It was the first time I was so compelled by a group of characters that I felt pain for them. It was the first time I saw myself in a character.

Lars and the Real Girl

Being of the female gender, I am obviously in deep love with Ryan Gosling, but Lars and the Real Girl was the first time I genuinely appreciated an actors performance. This is the film that taught me there is more to acting than saying lines. To be an actor you need to forget your inhibitions, and lose yourself in a character. It was this profound performance from Ryan Gosling that still lingers with me today. Lars and the Real Girl is also the first film that taught me about the human condition, and opened the discussion of mental illness. This film had a tremendous impact on how I view the world.

Harry Potter

The films that started it all! I am a firm believer that without Harry Potter I wouldn't be the person I am today. I first saw Philosopher's Stone when I saw six years old; it is the first movie I remember seeing. We as fans should be so grateful to the production team on Potter. These are genuinely beautiful films, and we should be grateful that the filmmakers loved these films as much as we did. Harry Potter is the film series that made me fall in love with films. This may sound cliche, but Harry Potter has honestly shaped my life.

My Fashion Inspiration | Jenna Coleman

Posted on 08:42 by smith
Happy April!

I feel like it's that time again for another installment of "My Fashion Inspirations." This week's fashion crush is none other than Miss. Clara Oswald herself, Jenna Coleman.

I love Jenna's style. She is never boring when it comes to fashion. She has a very classic style, which I love so much! She always has something on that pops, and makes her look even more cute than she already is. Besides her fashion, I think Jenna is a great actress! She does such an amazing job as Clara, and I cannot wait to see her and Peter Capaldi together! So, let's get to my favorite Jenna Colemen outfits!

So, I'm just going to put this out there: Jenna's hair and makeup always looks absolutely flawless, and I'm a little jealous! Jenna always rocks the perfect cat eye, and she always looks amazing! But aside from her beautiful face, I love this dress. The red looks stunning with her skin tone and her hair, and I am in love that that collar. Jenna Coleman wears the cutest collared dress, by the way.

So, this dress took my breath away when I first saw it! Firstly, I love the pale pink; it is such a beautiful, elegant color. Secondly, I love Jenna's styling of this outfit! I love the loose, messy curls, and the spiked handbag adds a nice little edgy feel to this graceful dress. And, of course, her cat eye looks amazing.

I adore this look from Murberry! Shift dresses are my favorite type of dresses currently, and I am absolutely head over heels in love with that coat! ... I may have slight coat addiction... But, I love the color schemes Jenna choices for her outfits. She knows exactly what colors look great on her and how wear them.

I love the way Jenna does prints. Looking through all of Jenna's fashion, she is very rarely seen in a plain dress; she's always wearing some sort of print or design. This one has to be one of my favorite printed dresses she has worn!

I fully blame Jenna for my complete obsession with tartan. She wears tartan so perfectly that I just absolutely fell in love with it! Besides the print of this dress, I absolutely the length. I couldn't be happier that calf-length dresses are coming back! Plus, the pop of red in the shoes is an absolute A+.

I love this dress! Firstly, the texture of this dress adds a lot of umph to a simple little black dress. You know I love a good black ensemble, and Jenna looks absolutely incredible. It's a flirty dress, but still classy. And I love the little touch of the waist chain... It's a cute throw to the classic men's tailoring. (Not to mention, that is a handsome piece of arm candy she has there. ;) )

So, this outfit right here is a  compilation of everything I love about Jenna's style: The hair, the makeup, the print, the amazing shoes! Once again she has nailed everything. I also love the very minimal accessories; the dress is the showstopper, so you don't want to add to many accessories.

So there is no denying that Clara Oswald is probably the best dressed companion ever! I don't know how much say Jenna has in her costumes, but I like to think she has a lot. I am obsessed with every single thing Clara wears. I just want to add all of these dresses to my wardrobe right now! And there is that tartan again... Told you, total Jenna's fault...

April Watch List

Posted on 14:51 by smith
Pinch Punch First of the Month!

Wow, April is already here?! This year is just flying by! Well, it's that time again for a new Watch List! This month's theme is based on my favorite family, the English Royal family! I am super excited for April because William and Catherine are going on their tour of Australia and New Zealand with baby George, which means many great new outfits from Kate and many new photos of the Cambridge family! So without further ado, let's get on with my favorite royal family films!

The Queen
Why It's a Must Watch: Helen Mirren

The Queen is Helen Mirren's most iconic role. I mean, more people know of Helen Mirren for being the Queen than they do the actual Queen. She has Queen Elizabeth's technicalities and physical quirks down perfectly. Her performance really is uncanny.

The King's Speech
Why It's a Must Watch: The Directing

I love everything about this film, but what I love the most is the directing. I love Tom Hooper as a director. He has a fantastic artistic eye. He gave Albert a voice, literally. He directs a fantastic cast of skilled actors, and creates on of my favorite Royal Biopic.

The Hollow Crown
Why It's a Must Watch: The Cast

The Hollow Crown is a four part series based on William Shakespeare's histories, Richard II, Henry IV: Part 1 and 2, and Henry V. So, who do we call to do a Shakespearean series... Yes, Ben Whishaw and Tom Hiddleston, of course! To be honest with you, I was skeptical before I first saw this. "Ugh, I don't think I sit through Shakespeare, even for Ben..." Boy, was I completely wrong. The Hollow Crown really changed my opinion on Shakespeare plays; I absolutely love them now. I credit this fantastic cast for opening my mind to the beautiful world of Shakespeare. They speak Shakespeare's words with easy and grace, making the story understandable even for the most "American" of us.

The Other Boleyn Girl
Why It's a Must Watch: The Story

Everyone knows the tale of Henry VIII and his six wives, but what I love about this film is it takes the side of the women involved. Rather than a love story, it's a survival story. The Boleyn sisters must fight to keep hold of their king because they both will know what will happen when he is finished with them.

The Young Victoria
Why It's a Must Watch: The Story

The Young Victoria tells the beautiful story of Queen Victoria's fruitful romance with Prince Albert. Queen Victoria's romance is a true fairy tale, but what makes The Young Victoria as captivating story is the flawless telling the early years of Victoria's reign. The story intertwines politics and romance to create a beautiful, historical film.

P.S. While we are here, have you seen this new photo of the Cambridges? They are just so gosh darn adorable!

Aww, I just can't handle how sweet this photo is! And George is probably the cutest baby ever!
